Tim Page sells snaps in Saigon

Tim Page, the photographer most famous for his Vietnam War coverage, is selling prints during an exhibition at the Cepage restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City this week. Page says a recent illness and money troubles have led him to the sale so that he can make enough cash to complete a new book, The Eagle Has Landed. The book includes images from Australia and the photographer’s return to Vietnam.

“Good pictures do not need captions,” he said, pointing to the photos hung without explanatory notes, on the restaurant’s wall. “If they can reach a viewer’s spirit, they’ve done their job.” link

The show, at 22 Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1, will end on December 20.
