In Memory of Rosalina Cardoso Cova (Ruzy)

November 10, 2014

Rusy behind the bar at the Frontline ClubWe received the devastating news last night that Rosalina Cardoso Cova (Ruzy), the Frontline Club’s longest serving member of staff, suddenly passed away aged 39 years.

Ruzy got up on Sunday morning and began to feel unwell and was rushed to Woods Cross hospital. We understand that by lunchtime she was gone and we don’t yet know what caused it.

Ruzy has worked at Frontline for nearly a decade, for most of that time she ran the day shift in the clubroom and never failed to welcome us all with a smile. We will miss her terribly.

She leaves behind Nelson, her partner of 25 years and their 18 year old son Fabio. Our deeply heartfelt condolences go out to them both.

This is very sad news. As a country member I am not able to get in to the club as often as I would like. But whenever I did Ruzy was usually on duty. She was always welcoming and friendly and in many ways she was the ‘Face of Frontline’. Her partner and family must be deeply shocked. I send them my sincere condolences.

This is awful news. I’m still finding it hard to believe what has happened.

Ruzy was one of the kindest people I have ever met. Ever since I became a
member she has been so helpful and thoughtful, each and every time I
    have seen her.

It is only a week ago today that she was chatting to me in the Members’
Room. I always felt cheered, whenever I arrived to do some work or meet a
friend, because Ruzy would always greet me with a broad smile and the
    friendliest of greetings.

Whenever she returned from her holidays, we used to chat about her life ‘back
home’. Yet she always seemed to be happy to be back at the Frontline.

    With great sympathy,

    Terence Dackombe

This is so sad. I am a relatively new member and from day one Ruzy has always been my ”face’ of the Frontline. I spent the whole of last Thursday in the club and as usual nothing was too much trouble. My visitors commented on her warmth and welcoming manner. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Ruzy was a wonderful person, so positive about life and would not judge a soul. I previously worked at the club and she was a great friend and colleague. She would always be there for me no matter how busy she was. I will never forget her smile and joie de vivre. I send her family my very sincere condolences.
