This year, 131 people submitted entries to the Frontline Club Awards.

Of the entrants, 53% (69) were freelancers who nominated themselves. The remainder of the work submitted was nominated by a broadcaster, online publication or newspaper.

Globally, the stories nominated covered 54 countries, which this map illustrates. Stories originating from Syria, Afghanistan and Palestine were most represented in submissions to the Awards this year.
