Courage and Lifetime Awards

The Washington D.C.-based International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is currently seeking nominations for its Courage in Journalism Awards and Lifetime Achievement Award. Last day to nominate someone is March 1, 2008.
The Courage in Journalism Awards honor female journalists from all over the world who have “demonstrated extraordinary strength of character in pursuing their profession under difficult or dangerous circumstances,” explained the organizers.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a female journalist “whose determination has paved the way for future generations of women in the media,” IWMF said in a press release made available to IJNet.
The winners will receive a cash prize worth $5,000 each and will travel to Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. for two weeks in October to attend ceremonies and participate in other activities. via International Journalists’ network
