Barbara Demick’s book opened the doors into the lives of ordinary North Koreans and provided a real insight into their stories and the hardships they face. But what is life like in North Korea now, 3 years since the book was written, and since the death of Kim Jong-il and the succession of his son Kim Jong-un?
