Screening – Pray the Devil Back to Hell

Screening Monday 15th February, 2010

Pray the Devil Back to Hell is the gripping account of a group of brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia, a nation torn to shreds by a decades-old civil war.  The women’s historic yet unsung achievement finds voice in a narrative that intersperses contemporary interviews, archival images, and scenes of present-day Liberia together to recount the experiences and memories of the women who were instrumental in bringing lasting peace to their country.

"Eloquently captures the power each of us innately has within our souls to make this world a far better, safer, more peaceful place"
Desmond Tutu, Winner (1984 Nobel Peace Prize)

Kate Nustedt, Director of Women for Women International, will speak about the up-coming campaign, Join me on the Bridge, being led by women activists in war torn countries.  With a background in organising campaigns with The Labour Party in the UK, and with Greenpeace and ActionAid worldwide, Kate will be speaking about the role of the media in social and political campaigning.
