Screening – Love Me Please

Screening September 23, 2011 7:00 PM

Love Me Please investigates the assassination of talented young journalist Anastasia Baburova who was killed in Moscow in broad daylight with lawyer and human rights activist Stanislav Markelov.

With video documentation of Russian fascists and music clips found on websites, the film looks at the people who claimed responsibility for the murders on 19 January 2009 and revelals the extent of neo-Nazism in Russia.

Screenings of the film in Russia had to cancelled because of safety fears, which makes even more pressing the film’s focus on how the few remaining human rights activists in Russia can continue to be effective today.
