Insight with Edna Fernandes: Religious fundamentalism in India

Journalist and writer Edna Fernandes talks to Caspar Melville about why India, home of most of the world’s major religions, also hosts almost every type of religious fanaticism.

Edna Fernandes is a British journalist of Indian origin who was born in Nairobi and grew up in London. She has worked for AP-Dow Jones and Reuters in London and the Financial Times in New Delhi.

She is the author of Holy Warriors: a Journey into the Heart of Indian Fundamentalism in which she investigates religious bigotry and intolerance among many different communities: Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian.
