Exclusive Preview Screening: Episode 1: Indian Hospital

Indian Hospital is a new 6 x 1hr series for Aljazeera English that will go on air at the end of April. Filmed over 4 months by two crews in a 3,500 bed hospital on the outskirts of Bangalore, the series explores life in modern India through the prism of the challenges faced by a hospital with a unique model of health care provision for a society of 1.2 billion people, where extreme poverty and extreme wealth are to be found side by side. This is healthcare on gargantuan supermarket scale, where no one is turned away, whatever their means, and where more paediatric open heart surgeries, for example, are performed each year than anywhere else in the world.
