Berlin 1989: Peter Millar
Award-winning journalist Peter Millar will be talking about his experiences covering
the latter days of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Peter Millar, who was named Foreign Correspondent of the Year in 1989 for his coverage in the Sunday Times, will be launching his new book 1989 The Berlin Wall: My Part in Its Downfall, which is published by Arcadia Books.
Part autobiography part historical reportage, the book conveys the euphoria and confusion that surrounded the events on the night of 9 November when the Wall was breached.
Peter Millar will discuss the lead up to that tumultuous night and what it was like to be a foreign correspondent covering the Cold War during the last days of Fleet Street.
