Africa is big, beautiful and diverse. Africa teems with commercial, artistic and - to the West - strategic potential. But Africa is troubled by war, hunger, bad politics and foreign meddling. Africa's story is exciting, but writing that story mostly involves long, hot days; endless, potholed roads across interminable landscape; and hour after hour sitting, waiting and watching Africa seethe all around you. In short, Africa is Boring.
