Live tonight: Is Somalia the new front in the war on terror?

[video:brightcove:1790967242] We'll be discussing Somalia at the Frontline Club in London tonight. This time the question up for debate: Is Somalia the new front in the war on terror? We'll be streaming the discussion live on the Frontline Club Live Channel and if you can't make it in person to the club, please join us online,
Since 1991, Somalia has been a dangerous, violent and lawless place, home to numerous conflicts and civil war, as well as increasingly a third theatre of operations for the US in its global war on terror. From localised inter-tribal and clan warfare, to regional tensions and international disputes, Somalia remains a highly complex battleground. Will the recent Djibouti peace agreements between the Transitional Federal Government and the opposition Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia result in anything concrete? And is Somalia really the next front in the War on Terror? link
The discussion will be chaired by Patrick Smith from Africa Confidential and taking part will be Ahmed Abdisalam, of the Somali Transitional Federal Government, Abdirahman Warsame, from the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia, Sally Healy of Chatham House and Mary Harper from the BBC.
