A discussion on the unprecedented challenges when it comes to covering the global pandemic in terms of accurately reporting a complex and fast-moving story. Covid 19 poses a unique set of challenges; to interpret the scientific data, tell the human stories, counter conspiracy theories and hold political leaders to account.

Speakers:
John Sweeney, British investigative journalist. He worked for The Observer newspaper, and the BBC’s until Oct 2019 on Panorama and the Newsnight series.

Professor David Heymann CBE, Previously chairman of Public Health England and assistant director-general for health security at the World Health Organisation where he played a key role in halting the spread of Sars (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).

Sir Craig Oliver is a Principal at Teneo. He was the former British Prime Minister, David Cameron’s Director of Politics and Communications for over six years, responsible for the Government’s strategy and messaging.
