Screening: War Oratorio
Screenings
Date: July 15, 2007 12:00 AM
Shot in Afghanistan, Kashmir and Uganda War Oratorio uses the powerful juxtaposition of documentary and music to explore warfare in the 21st Century.
A specially-commissioned classical oratorio performed in Europe forms the backbone of the film and is interwoven with the real stories of three remarkable individuals caught up in war. The librettist is Michael Symmons Roberts, winner of the 2005 Whitbread Poetry Prize.
Musicians from the three conflict zones, whose lives have affected by war, will perform together for the film.
