Frontline’s membership is drawn from the most talented people in the news industry. Other members include friends, people from the wider media, NGOs and individuals who care about press freedom and the world’s conflicts and struggles.
Membership is open to people who share Frontline’s values, and are both interesting and interested in the world around them. We eschew self-importance: the clubroom is somewhere for members to share a glass of wine rather than a grizzled anecdote. David Loyn described it in his book on Frontline’s history as
“a place for those with a nomadic temperament to gather and not tell war stories”

Clubroom
The first floor members’ clubroom has its own bar, comfortable sofas and armchairs and a relaxed dining area. Members and their guests can choose from the restaurant’s a la carte menu or the special club menu. There are newspapers, magazines, a library and wireless internet.
Bedrooms
The club has five double bedrooms for members to use. Located on the top floor of the building they have digital television, wireless internet, a private bath or shower and coffee and tea facilities.

Marcus Bleasdale has now spent eight years covering the brutal conflict within the borders of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the work was published in his book One Hundred Years of Darkness. Tonight he will present his work focusing on the people in Eastern Congo’s mining towns, where militia groups and government forces battle on a daily basis for control of the mineral-rich areas where they can exploit gold, coltan, cassiterite and diamonds.

Featuring a series of clips and excerpts from his work it will also include contributions from a number of people who knew and worked with him.
